Mosaic

When a dinner plate featuring a Charles Dana Gibson illustration from his collection “A Widow and Her Friends” found its way to a thrift store, it became the inspiration for my current series of mosaics. For me, the questions Gibson asked more than a century ago are no less relevant today. What are the social constraints and instinctive desires that inform the choices women make? Or, more simply put: who is doing the dishes?
